Secondhand values for geared handysize and supramax tonnage have proved resilient through the closing months of the year. With demolition volumes at multi-year lows and newbuilding berths largely committed into 2028, buyers are competing for a limited pool of Japanese and Chinese built candidates.\n\nOwners with 2010 to 2015 built tonnage are holding firm on ideas, and inspections are converting to firm offers faster than at any point in the past eighteen months. Our desk expects continued strength in the sub-60,000 dwt segment, with pricing sensitivity concentrated in vessels approaching their fifth special survey.
