Shipping and Delivery Policy
How bookings are executed, what transit times to expect, and how delays, documentation and claims are handled.
1. What we deliver
We arrange the transport and logistics service described in the booking confirmation. Physical carriage is performed by contracted carriers, shipping lines, hauliers and terminal operators under their own transport documents.
2. Booking process
- Enquiry with cargo, route and timing details
- Written quotation stating scope, charges, currency and validity
- Booking confirmation once the quotation is accepted
- Collection, loading and departure, with documentation issued
- Arrival, customs clearance and delivery, with proof of delivery
3. Transit times
Transit times depend on the route, service, carrier schedule, transhipment and customs clearance. Indicative ranges are given below and are confirmed for your specific booking in the written quotation:
- Road and intermodal within Europe: typically a few days to about two weeks
- Short-sea and intra-European sea freight: typically about one to three weeks
- Deep-sea container services: typically about three to eight weeks depending on trade lane and transhipment
- Chartered and project movements: scheduled individually per fixture
4. Delays
Schedules published by carriers are estimates and are not guaranteed. Congestion, weather, customs inspection, strikes, blank sailings and equipment shortages can change a transit time.
We notify the customer as soon as we are aware of a material delay and provide the revised schedule and any options available.
5. Documentation
Transport documents, packing lists, customs declarations and certificates required for the route are prepared or coordinated as agreed in the booking. The customer is responsible for the accuracy of the commercial documents and cargo data it supplies.
6. Inspection and claims
Cargo must be inspected on delivery. Visible loss or damage must be noted on the delivery document at the time of delivery, and any claim must be notified to us in writing without delay and within the time limits set by the applicable transport convention or carrier terms.
Claims are submitted to info@lamerza-poland.com with the transport document, commercial invoice, photographs and a statement of the loss.
7. Insurance
Carrier liability is limited by law and is usually far below the commercial value of the cargo. Cargo insurance is not included unless expressly agreed in writing, and we can arrange a quotation on request.
8. Storage, demurrage and detention
Free time at ports and terminals is set by the carrier and terminal. Where cargo or equipment is not collected or returned within free time, storage, demurrage and detention charges are passed through to the customer at cost, with supporting documentation.
